As part of the National DCMS Community Sports Coach Scheme, this is a unique opportunity to help develop and deliver multi aquatics activity, with a particular focus on Key Stages 1 and 2. You’ll be involved in a range of initiatives including the PESSCL programme, coach mentoring and ongoing National Governing Body long-term athlete development programmes. Close liaison with key partners such as SSCo networks, local clubs and other sports providers to build young people’s interest in sport will also be important.

A substantial background as a swimming teacher at ASA level 2 will be essential. This will be supported by a strong knowledge of ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming and Long Term Athlete Development and an understanding of multi-agency partnership working. In return, you’ll have access to an extensive CPD programme, personal and professional development opportunities and the potential to increase hours (depending on funding).

There is only one week left for clubs to nominate their hard-working volunteers for the ASA’s Aquaforce Recognition Scheme.
Nominations for the inaugural awards close on Friday 5 May 2006, so make sure you don’t miss out - submit your entry today.
More than 45,000 volunteers regularly commit their time, hard work and expertise to the swimming at all levels, and the ASA is keen to recognise the contribution they make to the success of aquatic sport in England.
The scheme, which will recognise volunteers at club, county, regional and national level, is split into four award categories - Club, Community, Outstanding Contribution and National.

One volunteer from each category will be recognised at county level with winners going forwards for regional selection. Four volunteers in each region will be nominated for national recognition and a dedicated panel will whittle the entries down to name the top volunteer in each category.
