Bristol Primary Aquasplash Festivals - Sep 2010

Aquasplash Festivals are a chance for pupils to take part in a swimming event designed for all levels. Those taking part will be able to do various activities based on various swimming disciplines including water polo, diving, synchronised swimming and life-saving skills.

The Bristol festivals are supported by the competition manager team, Bristol City Council, the RNLI and local swimming clubs.

LEN European Championships 2010

With one of the benchmark meets of 2010 beginning on 4 August 2010, Britain’s aquatic stars are putting the final touches to their preparations in their bid for glory.

British Swimming is sending athletes to compete in all four events that are taking place. The competition will see a total of 1,100 athletes fighting to become European Champion.

The LEN European Championships begin with Synchronised Swimming and Open Water Swimming.

Michelmores backs British Water Polo League

Michelmores LLP, the Exeter and London-based law practice, has become one of the first sponsors of the BWPL – and celebrated by presenting the league with a superb new trophy.

The award-winning firm has been involved in supporting water polo in the South West Region for a number of years and is one of the Exeter WP Club’s main sponsors. Michelmores also supported Devon County ASA joint junior men’s training camp in Hungary in 2008 when 39 players competed in the annual Turbo Cup in Szeged.

FINA Women’s Water Polo World League 2010

The British Women’s Water Polo team, powered by British Gas, are ready to face some tough competition as they take on the rest of the world for a place in the Super Final of the FINA Women’s Water Polo World League.

The 16-strong squad will travel to Budapest, Hungary, for the first preliminary round which will see them face Russia, Italy, Germany and Hungary in the round-robin competition from 9 to 13 June.

British Water Polo League officially launched

The structure of club-level Water Polo in Britain has undergone a major revamp and after months of planning and discussion the British Water Polo League (BWPL) was officially launched this week in Hockley Heath.

Club delegates attended the inaugural annual meeting for the new organization, a result of the merger between the National Water Polo League (NWPL) and the National Women’s Water Polo League (NWWPL), where they appointed Gordon Dacre as President.

British teams in LEN 2010 European Water Polo Championships

The Senior Men’s and Women’s British Water Polo teams, powered by British Gas, will be charging into Europe this weekend as they fight to qualify for the LEN 2010 European Water Polo Championships.

The three-day competition, from 30 April to 2 May 2010, will see the teams compete against some of the strongest Water Polo nations in Europe with the men playing in Oradea, Romania and the women in Dordrecht, Holland.

The British Gas ASA National Age Group Water Polo Championship Youth and Junior Finals 2010

Saturday 24 April 2010 - Manchester Aquatics Centre.

The competition will see some of the best young water polo teams from around the country battling it out to gain national honours.

Tickets are available on the door and cost £2 for adults (including a free programme) and £1 for concessions.

Matches are scheduled to begin at 12 noon.

ASA Water Polo Age Group Championships 2010 Junior Boys

Saturday 27 February 2010 (Noon to 6pm) - Liverpool Aquatics Centre, Wellington Road, Liverpool, L15 4LE

Cheltenham and Barnstaple will be up against Isle of Man, Dunfermline (2) and Lancaster (3) at the weekend. The top 2 (92 and under) teams from this group will progress to the Qualification Round due to be held on 20-21 March at Liverpool Aquatic Centre but now to be re-arranged due to GB Youth Boys competition.

British Gas Water Polo Championship Finals 2010

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February 2010 - Manchester Aquatics Centre

Eight of Britain’s top men’s and women’s water polo clubs will be fighting for national honours when they take part in the British Gas Water Polo Championship Finals 2010.

The competition is the culmination of the National League that takes place from September to January each year and offers the top teams a chance to play against each other in a competitive environment.

The Championships will see defending Men’s Champions Lancaster play Rotherham in the first semi-final followed by Manchester taking on Bristol.
