The ASA Talent Development Water Polo Programme 2010/11

There will be a trial for 95/96, 97/98 and 98/99 age group entry to the Regional Training Centre on Friday 1 October 2010 at Pyramids Pool, Exeter

Please be there at 7pm for registration. The trial starts 7.30 and runs until 9pm. Anyone in the respective age groups is welcome to come to the trial. If unsuccessful on 1 October, names will be kept and players notified should any spaces become available.

Cost of the trial is £5 and if successful, this will be deducted from the term fees of £55. Cheques should be made payable to ASA.

Please can clubs and coaches download and unzip the file for the term timetable and advert. Please display them at your pool or forward to anyone in your club you think may be interested. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Development Synchronised Swimming Coach within the Sport and Health Development team, funded for a three year fixed term period. Bristol City Council, in partnership with the Amateur Swimming Association, is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and well-motivated coach to work with the swimmers, coaches and partners to develop the synchronised swimming pathway and achievement in the city. The Development Coach will need to be committed to the development of synchronised swimming in Bristol, assist the South West Region and demonstrate a willingness and capacity to develop relationships with the Regional Synchronised Swimming Clubs and Committee.

Candidates for this position should be committed team players, enthusiastic, self motivated, flexible and be able to work unsupervised.

LEN European Championships 2010

With one of the benchmark meets of 2010 beginning on 4 August 2010, Britain’s aquatic stars are putting the final touches to their preparations in their bid for glory.

British Swimming is sending athletes to compete in all four events that are taking place. The competition will see a total of 1,100 athletes fighting to become European Champion.

The LEN European Championships begin with Synchronised Swimming and Open Water Swimming.

British Synchronised Swimming Team announced for LEN European Swimming Championships 2010

4 to 15 August 2010 - Hajos Alfred Aquatic Complex, Margaret Island, Budapest

The British Synchronised Swimming Team, powered by British Gas, will test themselves against their European counterparts as they begin preparations for the LEN European Championships.

The 12-strong British team has been announced for the competition. With the world’s top synchro nations, Russia and Spain, coming from Europe the Brits will have to make sure they are on top of their game in order to continue their progress on the world stage.

Synchronised swimmers gear up for Championships at GL1

30 April to 2 May 2010 - GL1 Leisure Centre, Gloucester

Britain’s top synchronised swimmers are putting the finishing touches to their preparations for the British Gas Synchronised Swimming Championships 2010 as they gear up to fight for national honours.

The closest fight for glory in the three-day competition is likely to be in the Team event with Reading Royals, Bristol Central and Trafford all in the running for medals.

The British Gas Synchronised Swimming team, powered by British Gas, will also be competing in Gloucester as they aim to develop their competition exposure early in the season.

The team will be competing in all events throughout the weekend except the Free Combination. Olivia Allison will be partnered by Asha Randall in the Duet and Lauren Smith will be competing in the Solo. Allison’s regular partner Jenna Randall has been forced to withdraw from the competition through a back injury from which she is now recovering well.

British Gas Synchronised Swimming Championships 2010

Britain’s top synchronised swimmers are putting the finishing touches to their preparations for the British Gas Synchronised Swimming Championships 2010 as they fight for national honours.

With Rushmoor taking back the national title in December, other synchronised swimming clubs with be challenging to beat them in the team event.

This will be the fifth year that GL1 will be holding the national competition. The facility has been recognised as an excellent competition venue with two 25m pools and a spectator area that caters for up to 600 people.

British Synchronised Swimming team for German Open 2010

5 to 7 March 2010 - Bonn

The British Synchronised Swimming team, powered by British Gas, are ready to take on some of the best synchro nations at the German Open, which will provide them with their first international challenge of the season.

The three-day competition will see the Brits entered in all events including the Duet and Team.

British Gas Synchronised Swimming Championships and British Gas ASA National Age Groups 2009 - Tickets

Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December 2009 - GL1 Leisure Centre, Bruton Way, Gloucester

Fans of synchronised swimming have just a few days left to get their tickets to see the British Gas Synchronised Swimming Championships and British Gas ASA National Age Groups, including a demonstration by Duet Jenna Randall and Olivia Allison.

As well as all the action from the youngsters in the Age Group Champs and the best of British synchro in the senior event, the British Gas Duet and the GB Team will also be giving a demonstration of their skills on the Sunday.

Volunteers needed at British Gas Synchronised Swimming National Age Group Competition in Gloucester

4 to 6 December 2009 - GL1, Gloucester Leisure Centre, Gloucester

Event organisers are looking for people who would consider volunteering to help out at the Nationals in the following capacity; Announcing, Sports Presentation Directing, Music – controlling all music for the routines etc.

All of the above roles are volunteer positions and will therefore not be paid. The successful volunteer in each capacity would be entitled to free accommodation (depending on where they live), £15 per day for their evening meal, they will have breakfast and lunch provided and they would receive an events polo shirt. They will also be entitled to travelling expenses.
