Bristol Primary Aquasplash Festivals - Sep 2010

Wednesday, 29 September 2010 - Bristol South Swimming Pool
Thursday, 30 September 2010 - Henbury Leisure Centre

Aquasplash Festivals are a chance for pupils to take part in a swimming event designed for all levels. Those taking part will be able to do various activities based on various swimming disciplines including water polo, diving, synchronised swimming and life-saving skills.

The Bristol festivals are supported by the competition manager team, Bristol City Council, the RNLI and local swimming clubs.

Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE)

Congratulations to David Hill (Kelly College) and Kate Grey (Thornbury), who competed recently* in the IPC World Championships in Durban. David, Kate and Lauren Giddings (Kelly College) have recently been invited onto the Disability AASE programme.

Who is AASE aimed at?

This qualification offers the first opportunity for elite and potentially elite athletes to get a proper recognition of the skills, knowledge and understanding they are developing / gaining in their quest for excellence.

Disability Liaison

Disability Liaison Officers who are the point of contact in each County for all disability issues. These Officers work with our regional development team and Regional Representative. In the light of ASA changes and the new Playground to Podium initiative the Region is adopting a different approach to disability development. Lyndsey Hollands, ASA Playground to Podium officer (Lyndsey.Hollands@swimming.org / 07909951896) provides reports to the Board and Development Committee.
