Gloucester and Somerset County Masters Competitions 2010
Sunday, 12 September 2010 (pool booked from 10am to 6pm. Meet runs from 10.30am* - 5.30pm) - Horfield Leisure Centre, Bristol
This meet for Master and Senior (18 to 24 years) Swimmers will be held under ASA Laws and ASA Technical Rules and is defined by the ASA as a low-level competition. Competitors must be on the list of registered members of an ASA-affiliated club but may have paid only Category 1 Registration and need not to have paid the higher competitive registration fee (Category 2)
Attention swimmers aged 18 to 24 years!
Not doing enough training, can't make qualifying times, not getting to open meets or making team selections, not seeing your mates at meets? Is this what you're looking for? This competition is open to swimmers in the above age-frame - to quote Herbie Adams: too old to be an age-grouper, too wise to be a youth and yet not old enough to have "mastered" the sport!
Herbie adds "Sooner, or later, you will become too old, too busy, or too realistic to want to keep up with the increasing horde of younger, and younger, swimmers. Now might be a good time to take a look at Masters' Swimming. And to ease your passage into the Masters' Ranks, why not enter this year's County Masters' Championships, Senior Section? Set in September, it means that you don't have to worry about not being at the peak of conditioning; there are no long races and everyone is a bit laid-back. "
This meet is good preparation for the premier event in Masters' swimming - the National Masters' Intercounty Event in November.

ASA South West Region Championships 2009 (25m) - Level 1
7/8 November 2009 - Hutton Moor, Weston-super-Mare
To enable the event to run smoothly we need some volunteers to assist Chris Tremellen and Robert Margetts. We require a Trophy Steward to get all the Cups and plaques ready for the presentations. Some help is also required with recording duties which will include assisting with signing in before and during warm-ups (all events will be signed-in), dealing with withdrawals from finals and posting of results. Any offers of assistance would be gratefully received - click to email Robert Margetts or Chris Tremellen.
