FINA 2007 World Championships
Teenagers Olivia Allison, Jenna Randall and Lauren Smith (Rushmoor Royals)faced the toughest competition of their lives as the world's leading synchronised swimmers produced a show of power, speed and manoeuvrability at the Albert Park aquatic centre. For Price, who joined British Synchronised Swimming in January, the World Championships came at a perfect time to measure the improvements of her squad gained from an intensive two-and-a-half months of increasing the athletes' abilities in time to meet the rest of the world.
The competition and their performances provide a clear picture of where we are and what we need to do to move through the rankings. The last time Britain was involved in a World Championships was back in 1998 and we need to get on the scoreboard to give ourselves a ranking - a starting point from which to build and improve.
This World Championships was different because in each event the technical and free aspects were finals in their own right with medals being awarded to winners of both aspects rather than combining them to give an overall position.

Duet Free Routine
Olivia Allison and Jenna Randall (Rushmoor) were early into the Rod Laver pool for the preliminary competition but coped with the draw to post their first international score of nine.
It proved to be a perfect way to finish off what has been a great experience for the developing team given the fact they have only been training full time towards their 2008 and 2012 Olympic dreams since the turn of the year.
Solo Technical Routine
Ruhmoor's Jenna Randall gave an accomplished performance in the Solo Technical Routineto give her first senior ranking within the sport. Judges marked Randall with an overall score of 86.333 with 43.000 points for execution and 43.333 points for overall impression to place her 17th out of 27.
Solo Free Routine
Rushmoor's Jenna Randall showed her obvious talent in the World Championship pool in Melbourne in an accomplished display in her first solo event at senior level. The teenager achieved personal best scores from the judges in the 8.9s.
Duet Technical Routine
Jenna Randall and Olivia Allison exceeded expectations at their first senior event and finished joint 20th with Austria at the Rod Laver Arena.
The result gives British Synchro, which is at the beginning of a development process in time for the London 2012 Olympics, a starting point on which to build to ensure they're competing with the very elite of the sport in five years time.
