Swim 21
News and information on ASA Swim 21 Club Accreditation (*) and development model - a 'Quality mark'. It is about creating the best possible swimming experience for all and raising the quality of swimming provision across all areas.
The ASA has expanded its swim21 accreditation programme to include learn-to-swim schemes and school swimming programmes as well as clubs. swim21 becomes the governing body’s blue print for good practice and an easy recognisable seal of quality for swimmers and their parents.
As of September 2009 swim21 Learn to Swim (**) and School Swimming Accreditation (***) replaced the former Aquamark scheme, reducing the self assessment length and paperwork but improving the quality by aligning it to the National Plan for Teaching Swimming, Long Term Athlete Development and UKCC qualifications.
* for all ASA Clubs
** for anyone offering a learn to swim programme who is not an ASA affiliated club e.g. swim schools, leisure operators, local authorities, school swimming programmes, private health clubs, holiday learn to swim schemes.
*** for organisations running a school swimming programme
