Bristol Primary Aquasplash Festivals - Sep 2010

Aquasplash Festivals are a chance for pupils to take part in a swimming event designed for all levels. Those taking part will be able to do various activities based on various swimming disciplines including water polo, diving, synchronised swimming and life-saving skills.

The Bristol festivals are supported by the competition manager team, Bristol City Council, the RNLI and local swimming clubs.

Liam Tancock

Liam Tancock put in thousands of hours of training in Exeter's public pools to get to the top of his sport.

The 24-year-old was a British and Commonwealth backstroke record holder in 2006; British individual medley record holder in 2007, twice World Championship bronze medallist, in 2005 and 2007, and Commonwealth gold medallist in 2006. At the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome he became the 50m backstroke world champion, breaking the world record.
