Download nomination form below for the ESSA South West Division team to compete at National Championships. Please ensure it is circulated widely to your swimmers who may be interested. All schools who nominate swimmers are considered to be automatically affiliated to the Division.

English Schools’ Regional Primary Relay Swimming Championships for 2012

Monday 30 April 2012 (Warm Up 6pm for 6.30pm Start) - Millfield School pool, Street, Somerset BA16 0YD.

Download official entry form, conditions for the event and team lists below (please photocopy if necessary). Please return the entry form (with entry times if possible to help seed the heats) to Robert Margetts with the appropriate fees by Monday 23 April 2012. This will confirm your entry into the Divisional Round and your school will be on the programme. For the Divisional gala you will need to bring with you the team sheets and hand these in at the gala.

The top three schools in each event will be invited to the National Finals on Saturday 16 June 2012 at Sheffield.

School Games 2012 - ESSA Selection Policy and Expression of Interest

The ESSA Regional teams for the School Games 2012 will be selected from performances at Licensed Meets prior to 6 February 2012. England South - ESSA Divisions 5, 9, 12.

ESSA South West Division at ESSA National Championships 2012

29 / 30 June 2012

Unless 4 volunteers come forward at the ASA SW Region Championships 2011 on 3/3 December 2011, the South West Division will not be represented at the ESSA National Championships 2012.

We urgently require a team of 4 - 1 Team Manager and 3 Coaches.

The Team Manager will be responsible for selecting the team from swimmers availability forms, making arrangments for picking up the team and all paperwork required to get the team together and responsibility for their control over the two days.

Please advise Robert Margetts ( if you know of anybody interested in joining the team.

A sporting chance to win

Four Secondary schools could carry the Olympic Flame in the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay and 12 primary schools could win tickets to the London 2012 Games for pupils and teachers.

Channel 4 to show highlights of the Sainsbury's UK School Games

Terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4 has confirmed that it will screen a highlights programme of the Sainsbury's UK School Games which will be held in North East England from 2 to 5 September 2010.

The event will see 1,600 of the UK's elite school aged athletes compete across 10 sports, three of which have a disability element incorporated.

The one hour highlights programme will be broadcast on Saturday 18th September 07.00am till 08.00am and on Channel 4+1 from 08.00am till 09.00am.
