"It's going to come to a point where we hit a ceiling and I can't take it any more. The poor facilities are the weakest link in the system. Anybody would walk away if they don't improve them. "Would Clive Woodward or Sven Goran Eriksson be given half a pitch on which to train their athletes? If I carry on banging my head against a brick wall the idea of spending more time with my family in Australia will become more attractive."

Swimming Thornbury may be a small swimming club in Gloucestershire but that didn't stop them finishing 12th overall in the boys club category at the National Age Group championships in Sheffield.

Their cause was helped by Grant Sage's six medals - gold 100m and 200m Breast, silver 200m & 400m IM, bronze 100m and 200m free. Grant, coached by Malcolm Casey, finishing second overall in the 2005 BAGCATS as he did in 2004 (2003 1st).

Team mates Emma Lloyd & Coralie Wright competed in a total of 13 heat and 2 finals between them.
